Cover Plate: 4 Ways

Hello, everyone. Natalia is here and today I would like to tell about my love to Cover Plates. In particular to Dotted Patterns: Loops | Creative Dies. On its example I will show 4 ways of its using (of course there are much more ways of using, but for me this 4 ways are most usable).

1st way – frame

This die set contains frame-die, which I like to use separately from cover plate, because this frame is absolutely autonomous and could decorate every work by itself. To create the frame with cover plate I took it from Dotted Patterns Set – 1 | Creative Dies. For this card I toned the workpiece with distress inks of blue shades. Then, using grey cardstock, I cut the frame. Next I stamped Together We Bloom | Clear Stamp Set on vellum with white and golden embossing and cut everything with coordinating dies. On black cardstock using white embossing I stamped sentiment from Blooming Bunch | Clear Stamp Set and cut out on a contour with scissors. Then I put everything together and decorated with Clear Round Drops – Mix

2nd way – negative

First I toned the workpiece with distress inks of mint and pink shades. Then, using white embossing, I stamped Floral Trimmings | Clear Stamp Set. After that I cut circles with Dotted Patterns: Loops | Creative Dies. The smaller size workpiece of white cardstock has been cut with Dotted Patterns Set – 1 | Creative Dies. I glued circles, which have been cut previously, on it. Put it on the base. Stamped words “best” and “ever” from Best Ever | Clear Stamp Set on light-grey cardstock using white embossing. Stamped word “friend” from the same set on black cardstock using white embossing. Finally, put all the details together. Decorated with Clear Round Drops – Mix.

3rd way – shaker

I toned the workpiece with distress inks of different shades. Stamped Hello Alice | Clear Stamp Set on paper for markers and colored it with Copic Scetch and Touch Twin alcohol markers. Stamped pool on vellum using silver embossing and cut it out with coordinating dies

Cut out windows with Dotted Patterns: Loops | Creative Dies. Made the volume frame of foam and poured Clear Rain Drops, Iridescent Clear Crystals | Mix, Sparkling Crystals | Mix, Mint Dream Crystals | Mix, Clear Iridescent – Seed Beads, Crystal Clear | Confetti, 3MM Majestic Sequins there.

Stuck upper frame gethered with transparent plastic. Using washy tape I stuck cut elements on prepared shaker. I stamped sentiment from And The Fox Says | Clear Stamp Set on black cardstock using white embossing.

4th way – partial cutting

I toned the workpiece with distress inks of mint shades. Then I divided Dotted Patterns: Loops | Creative Dies on 2 parts crosswise with adhesive tape. It helped me to cut windows only in lower part of workpiece, the tape marked place where I should stopped cutting with Big Shot. Using foam I made the workpiece volumetric and poured 3MM Majestic Sequins there. Stuck upper part gethered with transparent plastic. Next I stamped bouquet from Stamptember’s “Blooming Trio” on vellum using white embossing. Cut out on a contour with scissors. On grey stripe of cardstock I stamped sentiment from And The Fox Says | Clear Stamp Set using silver embossing. Stuck everything together.

Hope my experience and my favorite ways of using this die will be helpful for you.

Thank you for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

Best DAY Ever

Hello, everyone. Natalia is here. And today I would like to show multipurpose holiday card.

First of all I toned the background with distress inks of pink shades. Then, using Dotted Paterns: Loops, I cut the circles from the background to add volume to the card. I placed negative on washy tape, the circles became below it. After it I stamped Kobi’s Hugs & Kisses and Kobi the Birthday Bear on paper for markers and colored everything with Touch Twin and Copic Sketch alcohol markers

Using coordinating dies, cut everything out. Gave the bunch to Kobi and set him in bottom of the card and placed presents in front of him.

Using coordinating dies from Best Ever set I cut out according words (two workpieces per word) and stuck together to add volume. Then I stamped the word Day (Happy Valentines Day phrase) from And The Fox Says set on the strip of vellum using silver embossing. Stuck the sentiment on top of the card. At the end I put everything on the workpiece which I cut out using Dotted Patterns: Darling Ribbon die.

St.Valentines Day inspired me a lot, that’s why I chose pink but I believe this color could be changed to any other by desire and the card will still look spectacularly.

Thank you for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

Peony sentiment

Peony sentiment

Hello, everyone. Natalia is here. I can’t stop color flowers by Studio Katia with pencils.

Today I want to show the option of card on all occasions. First of all I took the frame die from Dotted Patterns Set – 1 | Creative Dies and cut out the workpiece from bright grey cardstock. Then, using beige inks and masks, I stamped Blooming Bunch | Clear Stamp Set on the upper left and upper right sides of the workpiece. Next I colored them with the Touch Twins and Copics.

Next stage was coloring with pencils (I believe the pencils lay down better not on “naked” cardstock but on the marker-colored cardstock. Also, using markers, you can change the tone of further pencil coloring). I took Polychromos and Prisma color pencils and colored upon marker coloring in 2 tones – purple and violet.
The important point in pencil coloring for me is the white pencil because it allows not only to add flares but to soften the transitions between colors.

After that I made banner with sentiment using Blooming Bunch | Clear Stamp Set on vellum with white embossing. Stuck it on Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive Clear Drying Craft Glue. Glued the background and decorated with Clear Round Drops – Mix.

Thank you for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

Theme Week | Hearts/Valentines – day 3 Floral Valentine Card

Theme Week | Hearts/Valentines – day 3 Floral Valentine Card

Hello, everyone. Natalia is here. Today I will show you my version of Valentine’s card in the framework of thematic week dedicated to February, 14th.

I took Neenah Environment 100 LB SMOOTH DESERT STORM Paper and cut of the workpiece. From the beginning I decided that I will make no line coloring with pencils, so my next step was to stamp Floral Trimmings set using Altenew Rocky Shore crisp dye ink pads, placing the image at the top the workpiece.

Next stage was to color with markers all the elements, to prepare them to coloring with pencils (it’s easier to me to color with pencils above markers). I took Touch Twin and Copic alcohol markers of green, beige, pink, red and peach shades. After all flowers were colored, I began to color with pencils. As usual there are 2-3 pencils (mostly 2) for one color excluding white color, which sometimes allocates glares and plays the role of blender.

After that I took the piece of Neenah Environment 100 LB SMOOTH DESERT STORM Paper, emboss ink pad and white powder for embossing and made sentiment from Best Ever and And the Fox Says sets. Then I cut this workpiece using Dotted Patterns Set – 1 frame die and stuck fun foam to it for the volume. So I did to sentiment. All the element I glued to the base of the card and decorated with Clear Round Drops – Mix.

Thank you for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

STUDIO KATIA three Christmas interactive cards

Hello, everyone. Natalia is here. Today I would like to show you 3 holiday interactive cards (different kinds).

First card is the through shaker, which I made like window.

At the beginning I stamped characters from Friends of Winter, Winter Kobi, Foxes and Hello Alice sets using Memento inks. Colored everything with alcohol markers Touch Twin and Copic Sketch. After it I cut necessary figures using coordinating dies. Using frame die from Darling Ribbon & Dotted Frames I cut 2 workpieces. Then I toned both workpieces with distress inks and stencils. Using Stitched Loops die I cut windows on the upper workpiece and volume windows from white cardstock. After it I cut imitation of snowdrifts from white cardstock using hill dies.

Using foam tape and transparent plastic I made shaker and filled it with Pink Winter, Crystal Rainbow Confetti, Majestic 3mm, Clear Dust. Then the time has come to glue everything together and add banner, which I made as a plate on grey cardstock with Happy Holidays sentiment from Origami Winter set, using silver embossing. Interesting fact – I used the pool from Hello Alice set as a carpet under the Christmas tree.

For the second card I used Winter Kobi and Friends of Winter sets. Making process is the same as on previous card so I’ll describe only differences.

I added splashes on toned background using two brushes WINK of Stella: Clear and White

Here the pool from Hello Alice turns to ice – on transparent plastic with silver embossing. Using spinner dies I cut the track for Kobi’s moves on ice.

With the white powder and embossing pad I stamped “HoHoHo” from Friends of Winter set on the background.

All the details I stuck on adhesive tape (some on foam tape). And voila, Kobi slips on ice and depart from his sleigh with presents.

The third card – here I used Christmas trees and sleigh from Winter Kobi set and the Kobi himself from Kobi The Birthday Bear set. This card is maximum simple – a lot of white space because of snowdrifts.

Kobi riding the hill on the sleigh. Here I toned the background with distress inks, cut white workpieces which imitate snowdrifts using hill dies. On the background workpiece I cut curved track (in the shape of upper snowdrift) with the spinner dies.

I stuck everything with adhesive tape, placed two nearer snowdrifts on the foreground with the foam tape. Using silver powder and embossing pad I stamped on the white cardstock “Happy Holidays” sentiment from Origami Winter set. And decorate everything with Majestic Fusion sequins.

Thank you for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

25 Days of Christmas Tags 2017 Studio Katia

Hello, everyone. I’m happy to join to the great event – Tracey McNeely’s 7th annual 25 Days of Christmas Tags, a link up to play along, and of course, prizes!  You can read all the details HERE

Today I would like to share Christmas Tags, which I made for Studio Katia’s day.

I like shakers so much, that making tags is one more reason to make little sweet shakers. First of all I cut workpieces using Dotted Shaker Tag die 1. Lower part (without the window) I toned with Distress inks. Then stamped elements from Winter Kobi set and colored them using Touch Twin alcohol markers. After it, using coordinating dies, I cut all the elements.

Next, I stamped sentiments from Pink Winter set on white cardstock, using silver embossing. Filled the windows with: 3MM Majestic Sequins; Clear Dust Seed Beads; Snowflakes; Crystal Clear Confetti; Crystal Rainbow Confetti; Majestic ConfettiI glued cover to each tag, all cut elements I put on washy tape, stuck the banner with sentiment above and satisfied with the work done.

Here is a peek at some of the awesome sponsors for this event!

Christmas Gift Tags | Theme week with Studio Katia

Hello, everyone. Natalia is here. Today I will show my Christmas tags in the framework of the theme week.

And, of course, the card in the same thematic. There was no question for me, what tags I’ll make, I knew it will be shakers. Also I knew the heroes of my tags. I took the set I’ve never work with before – Friends of winter (because of this cuties I decide to make optional card – just couldn’t stop).
I stamped Friends of winter with Memento inks and colored them with Touch Twin and Copic Scetch alcohol markers. Then I cut them with coordinating dies. Next, I made workpieces, using Dotted Shaker Tag. 2 or 3 workpieces with windows and 3 without. Inner part (without window) I toned with Distress inks, according to colors of the character. After that, I cut 3 workpieces with window for each tag from very dense cardstock which gave volume to the shaker. I stuck all workpieces together and glued to the base with adhesive tape. After that, I filled shaker with 3MM Majestic Sequins and Clear Dust Seed Beads – this sets I put almost in every of my shakers. Also I put: Snowflakes; Crystal Rainbow Confetti; Crystal Clear Confetti; Majestic Confetti. On cover of shaker I stamped sentiments, suitable to each character, using silver embossing. Under cover I stuck transparent plastic and glued everything together. Such beautiful result we have in the end.

Now shortly about the card. I made it, inspired by tags, to have the set.

As I always do 2 workpieces to 1 stamp (in a case of fatality), I have got beloved trio. Additionally I stamped Christmas tree and gifts from Winter Kobi set, using Memento inks. Colored with Copic Scetch and Touch Twin alcohol markers. Cut everything with coordinating dies.

I’ve been thinking for a long time what die to take for central composition, because the characters are quite big. I stopped at one of my favorite dies – Stitched Creative Window. I took frame die from Darling Ribbon & Dotted Frames and cut the base with it. Then, using Distress inks, I toned places for windows. White embossed snowflakes took place in windows. Silver embossed sentiment I made with Origami Winter set.

As it was with tags, I cut 3 workpieces from dense cardstock, using Stitched Creative Window die to add volume for shaker. Stuck all together with adhesive tape. Filled the windows with: 3MM Majestic Sequins; Clear Dust Seed Beads; Snowflakes; Crystal Clear Confetti; Crystal Rainbow Confetti; Majestic Confetti. Stuck shaker together and glued it to the base. Stuck elf and deer on adhesive tape such, as if they look out of the window. In the middle window I stuck Christmas tree and gifts, on top of it I stuck Santa on washy tape and voila, card is done.

Thank you for stopping by and have a wonderful day!
